照明への要求事項｜機械指令の基本的な健康と安全の要件（EHSR）

機械指令の基本的な健康と安全の要件 Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSRs) の必須要求事項の中から1.1.4 の「照明への要求事項」について解説します。

製造者は、使用場所の周囲照明が通常の照度であることを確認しなければなりません。 通常の照度は、たとえば、規格EN 12464、パート1および2に示されている屋内および屋外の作業場のレベルを考慮して判断できます。

1.1.4　照明(Lighting)
機械類は、通常の照度の周囲照明だけではリスクが生じる恐れがある場合、関連する操作に適した一体型の照明を具備しなければならない。機械類は、提供した照明によって作業の邪魔になる影が生じないこと、眩しい光がないこと、動く部品による危険なストロボ効果のないように設計・製造されなければならない。頻繁な保守・点検を必要とする内部部品や調整・保守箇所には、適切な照明を設置しなければならない。

1.1.4 Lighting
Machinery must be supplied with integral lighting suitable for the operations concerned where the absence thereof is likely to cause a risk despite ambient lighting of normal intensity. Machinery must be designed and constructed so that there is no area of shadow likely to cause nuisance, that there is no irritating dazzle and that there are no dangerous stroboscopic effects on moving parts due to the lighting. Internal parts requiring frequent inspection and adjustment, and  aintenance areas must be provided with appropriate lighting.

設計のポイント

設計者は、機械の周囲の照明の明るさを考慮して設計しなくてはなりません。必須要求事項では、安全な作業を行うために不可欠な照明を設置することを求めています。また、検査・調整・保守の目的で機械内部に侵入する場合に必要な照明も必須要求事項に含まれています。また、照明が眩しすぎることや、蛍光灯下で高速回転物が止まって見えてしまう危険性「ストロボ効果」も考慮しなければなりません。
